Environmental Management
Ⅰ. Environmental Management System
Our company actively responds to environmental issues and complies with relevant regulations by operating an internal environmental management system.
We ensure the proper handling of pollutants—such as air emissions, wastewater, and
waste—generated from ground operations in accordance with the law. We comply with
applicable regulations and work with certified environmental contractors. We also
monitor our contractors through biannual evaluations to ensure the lawful handling of
pollutants.
To improve airport air quality, we conduct emissions inspections, adopt electric ground
equipment, and install diesel particulate filters. We also use eco-friendly recycled
wrapping film to help protect baggage and cargo. Through these efforts, we remain
committed to sustainable ground handling operations.
Ⅱ. Environmental management activity
Waste management
Anti/De-Icing wastewater generated during Anti/De-Icing operations for safe operation of airplanes is the designated waste, which accounts for the largest portion of the waste we discharge. We actively participate in environmental protection and resource recycling by collecting Anti/De-Icing liquid containing propylene glycol as a main component and recycling more than 80% of it through a legitimate waste treatment company after use. We also treat all kinds of wastes generated during the maintenance of vehicles and equipments properly through waste disposal companies in compliance with the treatment deadline.
Air pollutant management
Air pollutants discharged by our company are divided into exhaust gases of vehicles and equipment and air exhaust facilities. We measure and inspect exhaust gases of all vehicles and equipment at least once a quarter and manage them within 90% of the legal standard. In addition, we entrust air discharge facilities to a environmental pollutant measurement company and minimize the emission of air pollutants by managing them to less than 30% of emission limit through continuous monitoring pollutant measurement 2 times per year.
Water pollutant management
The wastewater discharged from the cleaning process of vehicles and equipment is subjected to primary physical pre-treatment at our company and is finally treated at the joint wastewater treatment plant and discharged to the retarding basin, and we legally entrust the wastewater discharged from the cleaning process of carpets in airplanes to a professional wastewater treatment company. Through these actions, we try to prevent water pollution. In addition, the airport corporation is monitoring the emission facilities every half a year to ensure the prevention of pollution accidents.
